  • Why do we use hard wax?
Hard wax adheres more to the hair than the skin so there is less pulling and will hurt less. With this we are able to go over an area more than once to ensure we are getting all of the hair.
  • Should I stop use of retinol/acne treatment? Accutane?
For facial waxing services we recommend stopping use of active topicals at least 7 days prior to waxing. Accutane users need to have been off accutane at least 6 months prior to any facial or body wax.
  • How should I prepare for a wax?
-Exfoliate 24-48 hours before your wax to help loosen or free trapped hairs underneath the dead skin cells. We also ask that you do not trim the area being waxed. -You may also take an ibuprofen or two an hour before your wax if your pain tolerance is a bit lower. -And of course please let us know any medications you are on.
  • How often should I get a wax?
    Every 4 weeks is recommended.
  • How long will my wax last?
    3-4 weeks
  • Can I still get waxed during that time of the month?
Yes you may! Please be aware that you may be more sensitive so you can always take an an aspirin or ibuprofen 30 to 45 mins before. If you are getting any bikini service please use a tampon.
  • How long should my hair be?
Hair should be a minimum of 1/4” for optimal removal. The wax shrink wraps around the hair and anything shorter will just make the waxing tug at your hairs without removing them causing more irritation.
  • How do I care for my skin after a wax?
-Avoid anything that may cause sweating for at least 48hrs -Avoid tanning/sun exposure for at least 48hrs -Do exfoliate 48 hrs after and do so 3-4x week. -Moisturize -No body lotion -No coconut oil Treat and prevent ingrowns with our Smooth Operator.
